Pineapple and it´s health benefits!

Pineapple has impressive health benefits. We all know that pineapple is a delicious tropical fruit with a spiky, tough skin and sweet insides. Did you know why is so good for your health? It is full of vitamins and minerals, boosts our immune system, is high in fiber, may reduce inflammation and supports our digestion. Eating pineapple helps the general digestive processes because it serves as a powerful aid in breaking down proteins into peptides and amino acids. It can also ease the symptoms of colitis and acid reflux immediately. Like most fruits and veggies, it also provides water and electrolytes! When purchasing a pineapple look for one that is heavy for its size. It should be free of soft spots and dark areas. A ripe pineapple will smell sweet on its end. Once you cut it, you can store it out on the counter. This will make it softer and juicier but it won’t change its taste. Pineapple goes bad quickly, so make sure you enjoy it within 2-3 days! It is a great fruit to enjoy by itself or in your smoothies, salads, etc!
